Building the Education Revolution (BER) works are well underway at the Hackham East Primary and Junior Primary Schools, in South Australia.
Hackham East Junior Primary School received $2 million in funding for new classroom constructions under the Primary Schools for the 21st Century (P21) element of BER.
The works have involved almost completely demolishing the Junior Primary to make way for a new eight classroom teaching block.
Hackham East Primary received $2 million in P21 funding for a new four classroom teaching block, which will feature a large open performance arts space with full kitchen and canteen facilities, and an amenity area between the Junior Primary and Primary School classroom blocks.
“The new performance arts space will be able to be used by students and the public which is just superb, the whole community is excited,” said Mr Bob Thiele, Principal, Hackham East Primary and Junior Primary Schools.
As part of the National School Pride Program (NSP) works, the two Schools will also be receiving three outdoor shade shelters with outdoor furniture, two of which will be used for gardening and the other will be the meeting place for the tucker trail – an Aboriginal trail around the school where students are growing different bush tucker. |
