Minister for Main Roads

Main Roads Minister Craig Wallace said today that work was being carried out on a number of dangerous intersections in Queensland.

Minister Wallace said 20 intersections in Queensland – a mix of state and council-controlled roads – had recorded a high number of incidents over the past three years.

“They’re all busy intersections with high volumes of traffic. We take road safety seriously and that’s why we’re rolling out a record $3.53 billion this financial year to upgrade our roads,” Mr Wallace said.

1.Gold Coast: Bermuda Street/Markeri Street – $600,000 worth of improvements to start in July. $400,000 will also be spent next year on better street lighting, right-turn lanes and signage. Serious incidents: 10
