| Variphone is a custom made hearing protection device that consists of an acrylic ear mould with a specialized, built-in filter. Variphone is one of the rare custom made hearing protection devices on the market with a 100% final control of the fitting to ensure a leak tight fit which can be set within 1 dB of the required attenuation level as it contains an adjustable valve.
The leak-tight fit is critically important to ensure 100% adherence to international specifications – Variphone has been NAL-tested.
Life expectancy is around 5 to 8 years, even longer – provided it is serviced and maintained at least annually.
We supply mini-labs for the purpose to do on-site alterations (cost saving) and also on-site servicing of the units (build-up / ultrasonic cleaning / etc.) to ensure a leak tight fit and optimal functioning .
Please note that Variphone is effective up to a noise level of 120 dB maximum. These products have been used throughout Europe and South Africa since 1988, with extensive use in oil and gas, mining, aluminum smelters and heavy industry.
