The Inspector series consists of compact, easy-to-use, and reliable 2D vision sensors with integrated lighting, image evaluation and an Ethernet interface. The products are designed for easy and fast solving of a diverse range of part inspection applications. They are capable of inspecting parts in any orientation and position and have a predictable response time, making it ideal for packaging and small part assembly. The vision sensor´s robust design is suited for difficult applications and its intelligent and fast evaluation algorithms enable the Inspector to keep up with high processing speeds. Vision sensor offers smart camera performance The new Inspector I40 is the 3rd member of the Inspector family and offers the same ease-of-use as the I10 and the flexibility of the I20. In addition to the inherited feature set, I40 offers high performance inspection and support for complete production control, making it the ultimate choice for part inspection tasks. In large production plants that have the need to solve a variety of inspection tasks at different set-ups, it is important to have a flexible solution as well as a complete centralized control of the production. This is normally not possible to achieve with a vision sensor. Therefore, customers may have to choose from more complex and expensive solutions. The I40 concept offers part inspection at smart camera level of performance. This means high performance inspection, flexible setup and complete production control support - without increasing the complexity and cost of the solution. Powerful Inspector I40 is designed with a high resolution VGA imager (640x480 pixels), which provides improved image quality and enables inspection at higher accuracy or on wider areas without compromising speed. The Inspector I40's powerful inspection tool set provides a straightforward, easy-to-configure problem solving abilities, enabling easy solutions for tough targets. Unique flexible design The I40 comes in the flexible house design for easy lens exchange, which was introduced with the I20 variant. To make it even more flexible, a number of easy-to-set-up illumination accessories have been introduced. The unique concept re-uses built-in illumination in combination with different front window, resulting in red, green, blue or diffused white illumination – without any extra wiring - illumination has never been easier! Complete production support The Inspector family provides a pre-defined package for production control within the SOPAS user interface. The Emulator tool provides an easy way for fine tuning and to test a solution without disturbing the production. Plus, the Inspector incorporates an image log for analysing production problems. In addition to this package, the I40 also supports PLC control over Ethernet, with support for reading out detailed results and control the configuration set-up. Moreover, it supports storage of images to FTP, an extended arm to the image log that makes it unrestricted in memory capacity. Thus, the I40 is the ultimate choice for complete production control.
